Just a usual Saturday...

Last night, the three of us went to my husband's friends house for a barbeque.  It was really nice to finally meet another mom out here!  I've looked into joining a mom's group out here, but it seems like the members are in a different age group than myself and only meet while we are in school.  So they have a 7 month old little boy and another couple they invited had a 3 month old little girl.  It made me want another one, I miss that age and time has just flown by since I got pregnant with Drake, but I gotta get this darn degree that I have been taking forever to get before even thinking about that!  Anyway, they are a real nice couple and we seem to get along well.  Hopefully I make some more mom friends out here.

Oh ya, since we had a bbq to go to I put off our trip to the grocery store until today!  It is always interesting the people you come across.  We're in the dairy section, and this little boy, I swear he wasn't older than 7, runs up to his parents saying, "Dad I love coffee!" What???  I would never give my child coffee at that age.  My parents would tell me growing up that it would stunt my growth, not sure if its true, but either way, my child better not love coffee at that age.  Yes, I am addicted to iced mochas and must have one every day, but that doesn't mean my children get to drink them.  It is insane the things some parents do!
This reminded me of another OMG moment.  We were at the hospital for my son to get his stitches out, and I look over and this mom is FILLING UP a BOTTLE for her toddler of Fanta! Are you serious???? What goes through some peoples' minds startles me. I mean really? Soda? and a bottle? This kid was well past being one year old! Sorry, it really upsets me.  I'm no health nut but I'm also not one to fill my kid up on sugar and happy meals.  And I don't understand why people give their children bottles after 1 year, I thought you're supposed to toss them after their first birthday???

And did I not mention the comment I got from the cashier, who I must say looks about my age!  She asked if my son was mine, and said I looked like I was fifteen!  ugh, it is so embarassing to know people think that, I am a little young, but come on 15???  Yes, I am still only 21, but I'd like to think thats a little better than being a teen mom.  And I have been married for almost 4 years,  and got pregnant with my son on our 2nd anniversary.  Well, then the girl mentioned she had a little one, I really wanted to make some rude comment right back to her, but I just don't have the heart!  I just remind myself that hopefully this means I will always look younger than I really am!
